Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of competence, work culture and organizational commitment on job satisfaction and civil servants performance in regional government’s working unit Selayar Islands District. The study was conducted on 4.321 civil servants. A total of 366 civil servants were used as samples. Results confirm the hypothesized model indicating that the competence has significant effect on job satisfaction and not significant on civil servants performance. Work culture and organizational commitment is a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and employee performance. Job satisfaction is positive and significant effect on civil servants performance. The mediating role of job satisfaction is significant to explained the effect of organizational commitment on employee performance, but is not significant to explained the effect of work culture, competence on employee performance Keywords - Competence, culture, commitment, job satisfaction, employee performance
