Optimalisasi Program Z-Mart Baznas Kota Makassar sebagai Instrumen Pemberdayaan Ekonomi dan Penguatan Ekosistem Industri Halal

Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the Z-Mart management model, the economic empowerment
pattern of mustahik, and its contribution to the formation of a community-based halal
economic ecosystem. This study uses a qualitative approach with field research. Data
were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation with Z-
Mart managers, Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) administrators, and BAZNAS Makassar City
officials. The results show that Z-Mart management is carried out through two main
patterns: direct management by mustahik and management through UPZ mosques and
Islamic boarding schools. Z-Mart managed through UPZ shows a more structured and
sustainable level of empowerment because it is supported by institutional capacity,
business mentoring, and integration with community socio-religious activities. In
addition to increasing mustahik income, Z-Mart also contributes to strengthening the
halal industry ecosystem through the application of halal and thayyib principles,
empowering local MSMEs, and establishing a community-based halal economic network.
However, this program still faces challenges in the form of limited mentoring and
competition with modern retailers. Therefore, institutional strengthening and a more
optimal mentoring strategy are needed so that the Z-Mart Program can be sustainable
and replicated in other regions.
