Abstract

This study aims to describe the situation of using the school library to increase student achievement in class IV at SDI Kampung Tangnga, Selayar Regency and its supporting and inhibiting factors. School libraries in general cannot be used optimally by students due to several factors including a lack of samples and reference titles that are increasing and that are needed by students are still lacking. In addition, the homeroom teacher does not direct students to use the library. The subjects of this study were librarians, homeroom teachers for class IV and class IV students at SDI Tangnga Selayar Regency for the 2022 academic year. The research location was at SDI Kampung Tangga which is located in Teluk Kampe Village, Pasimasunggu District, Selayar Regency. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the use of the school library to increase student achievement in class IV at SDI Kampung Tangnga was still weak, because the library facilities were inadequate both in terms of the availability of textbooks and supporting books and their management was not optimal. Therefore, what is the aspect that is the driving force is the aspect of management and facilities that have not been adequate. While the supporting aspect is the spirit of the students themselves
