Abstract

The development of public transportation is currently following the trend of population growth and technological developments. Taxis online in Makassar City are one of the new modes of transportation that are widely used by the community, and are starting to leave public transportation (pete-pete). The Makassar National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) has approximately a total of 600 people who need public transportation for daily activities to and from the office. The purpose of this study was to determine the trend of mode selection between public transportation and online transportation, and to determine the factors that most influence employees in choosing modes. The analysis used is multiple linear regression analysis with data derived from interviews with employees. The results show that online taxis have a greater tendency to be chosen than public transportation with the factors that most influence the choice of mode are tariffs, ease of getting modes, convenience, and certainty of getting modes.
