Abstract
On Urip Sumoharjo Road and Perintis Kemerdekaan Road, especially in front of the Nipah Mall and Makassar Town Square areas, driver often experience traffic problems such as increasing at peak hours and on holidays. This happens during peak hours due to high community activities, plus side barriers that arise due to vehicles leaving or entering the Nipah Mall and Makassar Town Square areas. To improve the performance of Urip Sumoharjo and Perintis Kemerdekaan Roads, which are increasingly congested, it is necessary to have a study that intends to determine the number of trips generated and the magnitude of the decline in road performance in the study area. This study is needed to identify problems on Urip Sumoharjo and Perintis Kemerdekaan Roads, especially in the shopping and education center areas so that later they can find the right solution to prevent bigger traffic problems. The purpose of this research is to formulate an alternative to improve Urip Sumoharjo and Perintis Kemerdekaan Road in Nipah Mall and Makassar Town Square areas. The analytical method used is the analysis level of service, with volume, capacity, performance and speed. The results show that the performance of Urip Sumoharjo Road direction 1 is 0,82 with a service level of D, and the value of the degree of saturation in direction 2 is 0,72 with a service level of C. While the Perintis Kemerdekaan Road section has a saturation degree of direction 1 of 0,90 with a service level E, while the degree of saturation for direction 2 is 0,85 with service level D.
