Abstract

Industri pengelasan merupakan tempat kerja yang berisiko tinggi menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan dan kelelahan kerja. Asap pengelasan terdapat kandungan debu dan gas, kandungan inilah yang nantinya dapat menimbulkan beberapa gangguan seperti konjungtivitis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang berhubungan dengan konjungtivitis iritan pada pekerja bagian pengelasan di PT. Industri Kapal Indonesia (Persero) Kota Makassar. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian jenis kuantitatif dengan rancangan cross sectional study. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pekerja bagian pengelasan di PT. Industri Kapal Indonesia (Persero) Kota Makassar. Sampel penelitian adalah seluruh pekerja bagian pengelasan di PT. Industri Kapal Indonesia (Persero) Kota Makassar yang berjumlah 40 orang yang diambil menggunakan metode total sampling. Hasil penelitian diperoleh ada hubungan antara konjungtivitis iritan dengan paparan asap las (p=0,000), penggunaan APD (p=0,025) dan tidak ada hubungan konjungtivitis iritan dengan pengetahuan (p=0,509). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diharapkan agar pekerja melakukan pengelasan menggunakan APD lengkap agar terhindar dari konjungtivitis iritan. The welding industry is a workplace that has a high risk of causing health problems and work fatigue. Welding smoke contains dust and gas, this content can later cause several disorders such as conjunctivitis. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of irritant conjunctivitis in welding workers at PT. Indonesian Ship Industry (Persero) Makassar City. This type of research is a quantitative type research with a cross sectional study design. The population in this study were welding workers at PT. Indonesian Ship Industry (Persero) Makassar City. The research sample is all welding workers at PT. Indonesian Ship Industry (Persero) Makassar City, totaling 40 people who were taken using the total sampling method. The results showed that there was a relationship between the incidence of conjunctivitis and exposure to welding fumes (p=0.000), the use of PPE (p=0.025) and there was no relationship between the incidence of conjunctivitis and knowledge (p=0.509). Based on the results of the study, it is expected that workers performing welding use complete PPE to avoid irritant conjunctivitis.
