Abstract
Indah Kartika Ohorela. Uji Aktivitas Antioksidan Ekstrak Etanol Biji Buah Alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) Dengan Menggunakan Metode FRAP (Dibimbing oleh St. Maryam dan Asriani Suhaenah) Biji Buah Alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang berkhasiat sebagai obat tradisional. Kandungan dalam ekstrak etanol biji buah alpukat mengandung beberapa senyawa metabolit sekunder, yaitu alkaloid, triterpenoid, tanin, flavonoid, dan saponin. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya aktivitas antioksidan yang terdapat pada ekstrak etanol Biji Buah Alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) dengan menggunakan metode FRAP yang di ukur dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang maksimum 794 nm. Ekstraksi Biji Buah Alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Hasil menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol Biji Buah Alpukat sebesar 42,448 mgQE/g ekstrak yang artinya setiap 1 gram ekstrak etanol biji buah alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) setara dengan 42,488 mg kuarsetin. Antioxidant Activity Assay of Ethanol Extract of Avocado seeds (Persea americana Mill.) by FRAP (Supervised by St. Maryam and Asriani Suhaenah). The avocado (Persea americana Mill.) seed is traditionally esteemed for its medicinal virtues. This study investigated the ethanol extract of avocado seeds, which is rich in various secondary metabolites including alkaloids, triterpenoids, tannins, flavonoids, and saponins, for its antioxidant capacity. The objective was to quantitatively assess the antioxidant activity within the ethanol extract of avocado seed employing the FRAP method, with absorbance measured via a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at the maximal wavelength of 794 nm. The extraction process utilized the maceration technique, incorporating 96% ethanol as the solvent. The findings reveal that the ethanol extract of avocado seed exhibits significant antioxidant activity, quantified at 42.448 mg Quercetin Equivalents (mgQE) per gram of extract. This indicates that each gram of the ethanol extract of avocado seed is equivalent to 42.448 mg of quercetin, highlighting the extract's potent antioxidant capacity.
